Terms of Service

CJX Studios ("we", "our", "us") is a web design business operated by Chris Maboyi, based in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa. These Terms of Service govern the relationship between CJX Studios and any client or visitor ("you") who uses our website or engages our services.

By contacting us, requesting a demo, or paying an invoice, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

CJX Studios provides custom website design, e-commerce development, SEO services, Google Ads management, and social media services to South African businesses. The exact scope of work for each client is agreed upon before any payment is made.

• All deliverables are confirmed in writing via email or WhatsApp before work begins
• Revisions included in each package are specified at the time of quoting
• Requests outside the agreed scope may incur additional charges, communicated in advance
• We reserve the right to decline any project at our discretion

All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payments are processed via EFT, PayFast, or another method agreed upon at the time of quoting.

• Monthly retainer plans are billed in advance on the 1st of each month
• Once-off project fees are due before the final website is launched or handed over
• Invoices not paid within 7 days may result in work being paused
• We do not offer refunds on work already completed and delivered

We offer a free website demo delivered within 48 hours of your request, with no deposit required. The demo is a working prototype built specifically for your business.

• The demo is provided at no cost and with no obligation to proceed
• Demo sites remain the property of CJX Studios until payment for the full project is received
• Demos not converted to paid projects within 30 days may be taken offline
• We reserve the right to withdraw the free demo offer at any time

For monthly retainer clients, you may cancel at any time with 30 days' written notice sent via email or WhatsApp. No penalty applies for cancellation after the notice period.

• Cancellations mid-month do not entitle you to a pro-rata refund for that month
• On cancellation, all work completed and paid for remains yours
• Domain names registered in your name remain yours; domains registered in our name require a transfer fee
• We will provide all source files and login credentials within 7 business days of cancellation

Upon receipt of full payment for a project, all design work and code created specifically for your project becomes your property. We retain the right to display the completed work in our portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing.

• Stock images, fonts, and third-party plugins remain subject to their own licences
• You are responsible for ensuring any content (text, images, logos) you supply does not infringe third-party rights
• Unpaid work remains the intellectual property of CJX Studios

CJX Studios makes every effort to deliver high-quality, reliable websites. However, we cannot guarantee specific business outcomes such as increased revenue, leads, or search rankings.

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, CJX Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our websites or services. Our total liability in any matter is limited to the amount you have paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Gauteng, South Africa. These terms also comply with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) where applicable.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify active clients of material changes via email or WhatsApp.
